Brahmagupta lived during the 7th Century and was a renowned Mathematician and Astronomer. Among his several works, the most important text was the ‘Brahmasphutasiddhanta’ which were composed in elliptic verse and had a poetic ring to them. In his work he produced results on how to calculate the squares and square roots, cube and cube-roots of an integer. Brahmagupta had a different view of numbers and did not merely think of them as means to count but abstract entities. His views would later be the foundation of future Mathematics. He also composed one of the earliest recorded intimations of what we know call as algebra. He also derived the Brahmagupta's Formula which is to calculate the area of a cyclic quadrilateral.
