The word Quantum teleportation refers to the ability to move ‘qubit’ or Quantum information from one point to another without actually crossing the space between these two points. This process even though sounds farfetched are possible through a natural phenomenon called Quantum entanglement. It is the property by which a pair of particles is linked so tightly that they remain connected regardless of distance. Scientist at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience Delft has successfully managed to teleport Quantum information which was stored in one bit of diamond to another Diamond kept 3 metres away. Quantum teleportation aims to be the next great era of computing. Very recently there have been several such Quantum teleportation successes but its consistency and repeatability have been a major issue. To repeat the same successfully for long distances paves the way for Quantum networks in the future.
