Beam Powered Propulsion is a propulsion mechanism that makes use of energy beamed to the targeted object from a remote power plant to provide energy. This is mostly employed on or for aircraft and or spacecraft. The working principle of rockets is that mass is ejected from the rocket to provide momentum by means of chemical fuel and the initial thrust can indeed be obtained from the fuel but the momentum need not be obtained from this same chemical reaction it is under the light of this thought that beam-powered propulsion came to be. The added advantage that beamed propulsion has is that one can leave the power-source stationery on the ground, thereby decreasing the total weight that it needs to be propelled. The different propulsion mechanisms that are aimed are:

•          Laser Propulsion

•          Microwave Propulsion

•          Electric Propulsion

•          Direct Impulse
